Singapore, 7 July 2015Synonymous with joyous reunions and gatherings, Mid-Autumn Festival is traditionally celebrated in the accompaniment of loved ones. This year, Master Chef Lai Tong Ping (黎东平) of Hai Tien Lo (海天楼) presents seven classic mooncakes to commemorate this Chinese festival steeped in history and culture. These signature favourites will be available for purchase from 13 July to 27 September 2015.

Making its debut is Pandan Paste with Single Yolk – a lush blend of jade Pandan Paste complemented with Salted Egg Yolk encased in a golden brown baked skin. Savour the fragrant Pandan flavoured paste that marries seamlessly with the fine texture of salted egg yolk. Another new creation is White Lotus Seed Paste with Black and White Sesame. The combination of black and white sesame gives the mooncake an added texture as its delicate crunch enhances the smooth lotus paste.

Not to be missed is Hai Tien Lo’s signature Mao Shan Wang Durian Snowskin that presents a generous serving of Mao Shan Wang durian wrapped in silken snowskin. Durian aficionados will relish the consistency and fragrant aroma of the King of Fruits.  Other popular highlights include White Lotus Seed Paste with Double Yolk and White Lotus Seed Paste with Single Yolk. Guests who prefer a nutty finish may choose from the White Lotus Seed Paste with Macadamia Nuts or Traditional Mixed Nuts with White Lotus Paste.

Besides traditional mooncakes, Hai Tien Lo will also introduce a six-course prix fixe menu, the Mid-Autumn Opulence Menu, consisting of unique creations from Chef Lai, showcasing the pristine flavours of Cantonese cuisine. Savour delicacies such as Pan-fried Foie Gras with Smoked Duck and Braised Whole Abalone with Crispy Sea Perch Fillet in Abalone sauce. The tasting menu (S$128 per person) is available for groups of at least two guests who will also receive a complimentary box of traditional baked mooncakes for every two orders of the prix fixe menu.

Alternatively, celebrate with an intimate gathering at home with the Mid-Autumn Reunion Set. Suitable for groups between six to 10 guests, the takeaway set includes Assorted Barbecued Platter, Golden Wealth Pen Cai and a box of Traditional Baked Mooncake. This specially designed takeaway set is priced at S$393.80 and S$565 for groups of six and 10 guests respectively.

These perennial favourites are available for orders between 13 July and 27 September. Advanced orders made between 13 July and 16 August 2015 will enjoy an exclusive 25% savings. The mooncake, available in boxes of four pieces, are priced from SGD59.90 onwards and can be collected from 17 August 2015 onwards.
